This post is simply on Mason. We've had a transition with his cast and no swimming. He swam nearly every evening. He's taken it like a champ with no complaints. He's also counting down the days until it's off. He's mastered lots of piano in the last week.
We've had an interesting last week with school. I had a meeting at his school last week about 6th grade. He qualified for honors math next year. I then received an email saying he qualified for honors Language Arts.
Next, he informed us he won his class spelling bee last Friday. He qualified to complete with all the other class winners for a bee yesterday. I was lucky that I was able to take my lunch hour and watch. He was in the finals with 14 and ended up getting 3rd place!! It was so fun and nervewracking to watch! We are so proud for 3rd place of 374 fifth graders!! What is more shocking is he never went over one word at home. He was the last boy standing. They don't focus on spelling that much in school-I was pretty shocked! I also have video. One of those moments I will cherish. I sat smiling ear to ear just proud that he made it as far as he did.

Near the end... The poor girl next to him was so nervous. He kept his composure the entire time. I could tell he was disappointed, but I wasn't! ** note-disappointed only has one "s". He put two and missed the word to get out. Ironic, but no disappointment here!
